Weight Pull Accomplishments

9/30/07: Cadillac competed in her very first IWPA event, September 9th 2007. She competed in the 40-60 lb class, weighing in at 54lbs that day. She pulled 800 lbs successfully, 14.81 times her body weight. She was the only dog in her class at the Region 2 Kickoff- so she earned 5 points and a first place ribbon. However, she pulled with the 60-80 lb class, and there were several dogs she beat in that class. At the time of this competition she had only been training formally for a few weeks.

Atlas, Aurora and Mush Mouth all started training towards the end of September as we got a cart to train with. They are all progressing well at this point and should be bringing home ribbons when they start competing. We are using a harness which we bought online for only $60.00, a good deal and a nice harness.

10/06/07: Cadillac and Atlas attended the Cashmere, Wa Appledays pull today. They will also compete tomorrow. We have been conditioning them since last month and they both put on a good deal of muscle as a result. Atlas weighed in at 60lbs, he took 2nd place-out of 5 dogs- in the 40-60lb class, . He pulled 1600 lbs, 25 times his weight. He earned 6 points. Cadillac weighed in at 63lbs and came in 3rd -out of 6 dogs- in the 60-80lb class. Pulling 1260, 20 times her weight. Cadillac earned 4 points. This pull was on carpet, something neither of our dogs have done before.

10/07/07: The second day at Cashmere, WA there were more dogs and the competition was stiffer. Our dogs both pulled the same weight as the first day, oddly enough. Atlas was 3rd place, beating 2 dogs. Cadillac was 4th place, beating 1 dog. Atlas earned 3 points and Cadillac earned 1 more.

2/16/08: Atlas and Cadillac attended the Yakima Sportsman show in Yakima, Wa. He took 5th place pulling 1380 in the 40-60 lb class. This was 23.39 times his weight. Cadillac was in the 60-80 lb class at this pull. She weighed in at only 63 lbs. She pulled 980lbs, 15.56 times her weight coming in last place.

2/17/08: Both dogs competed the second day as well. Atlas came in 5th place again, however he only pulled 980lbs this day, 16.61 times his weight. Cadillac came in 2nd to last, however her weight was much improved. She pulled 1580 which was 25.08 times her weight.

3/29/08: Cadillac and Atlas competed in Wenatchee, Wa. This was a Carpet pull. Atlas pulled 1990lbs taking 5th place in the 40-60lb class. Cadillac surprised everyone by pulling 2490lbs, taking 3rd place in the 40-60lb class. Cadillac's pull was 42.2 times her weight.

3/30/08: Both dogs competed again at the second day in Wenatchee, Wa. The weather was awful, it snowed and the pull was still on carpet. Atlas pulled 1890lbs taking 5th place again in the 40-60lb class. Cadillac pulled 2290lbs taking 2nd place in the 40-60lb class.

Cadillac is qualified for the Championships in Yakima, WA this year! She has pulled enough to earn her Working Dog Excellent title. Atlas has also earned his Working Dog Excellent title.

Cadillac got her very first custom harness from "The Working Canine" before championships! They were nice enough to rush making and shipping this excellent harness to us. Thank you!

4/27/08:Cadillac took 2nd place in her weight class (40-60lb) at the IWPA national Championships. She pulled 1680 on a steep incline and came in one incriment behind the 1st place dog, Sinai. This was 28.97 times her weight at the time. However, the track was deliberately set up to be hard in order to shorten the competition time.

7/12/08: Evergreen State ADBA Club Show and Pull in Monroe, WA. Cadillac pulled (unknown amount). She took 1st place in the 55-65 lb female class.

7/13/08: Evergreen State ADBA Club Show and Pull in Monroe, WA. Cadillac pulled 2440lbs which was 42.06 times her body weight. She took 2nd place in the 55-65 lb female class.

Cadillac has 13 points in the ADBA for weight pull as of the 13th of July 2008.

9/13/08: Beaver State ADBA Club Show and Pull in Tygh Valley, OR. Cadillac pulled 2600 lbs which was 46.43 times her body weight. She took 1st place in the 55-65 lb female class.

9/14/08: Beaver State ADBA Club Show and Pull in Tygh Valley, OR. Cadillac pulled 2200 lbs. She took 1st place in the 55-65 lb female class.

9/20/08: IWPA Region 2 Kickoff in Nine Mile, WA Cadillac pulled 2220 lbs. This was 37 times her body weight. She placed 1st in the 40-60 lb class.

9/21/08: IWPA Region 2 Kickoff in Nine Mile, WA Cadillac pulled 2480 lbs. This was 42.76 times her body weight. She took 1st place in the 40-60 lb class.

10/4/08: IWPA Apple Days Pull in Cashmere, WA Cadillac pulled 1330. This was a hard track but she did 8.14 times her body weight and took 1st in the 40-60 lb class.

10/5/08: IWPA Apple Days Pull in Cashmere, WA Cadillac pulled 1570. This was 14.48 times her body weight and she took 1st place for the 40-60 lb class.
