Cadillac X Revival 2007

Our first litter, although not planned timing-wise, elicited what we feel are very good results. We had planned since obtaining Revival, a.k.a. Mush Mouth, to eventually breed him with Cadillac- creating a threeway cross of Colby, Redboy and Panther. Essentially, we love the pure Colby family as a whole- however, we want to create something different from our dogs, instead of just breeding Colby to Colby. So, we decided on taking the Colby family of dogs and crossing into a half and half combo of Redboy and Panther. In Mush Mouth we found that combination. He is a perfect conformation specimen with a wonderful temperament, alert yet obedient at all times.

We will not apologize for our actions or choices in this instance, however we will say that a medical emergency caused Cadillac and Revival to be unattended for no more than 10 minutes. In that time they tied and from this 11 exuberant and beautiful puppies were born. We have told the background of this incident to many people and if you are curious as to what happened, feel free to email us and we will tell you as well.

Cadillac delivered and took care of all 11 puppies herself. they were all fed quality food and immunized/dewormed appropriately. We socialized and taught manners to each puppy. We also found homes for 10 of them after much searching and many unsuitable people whom we met. Every puppy was sold with a contract- either a show contract or a spay/neuter contract. Every puppy was sold with a health guarantee, having been examined by our vet.

The puppies from this litter are now all in homes which either are showing them in the conformation arena, training them for weight pull or altering them and keeping them as beloved family pets. At six months of age I had been reported to by every person who took them that they are incredibly intelligent, quick learners and very well behaved in public. As a whole these puppies turned out nicely.

By a year old I am now seeing serious differences in these puppies. Some have firey attitudes towards strange dogs, some don't. Some are relaxed and lazy, much like Cadillac herself. Others are high energy and athletic like Mush Mouth. Some still are both relaxed at times but happy to run and exercise when given the chance.

I would like to say that we respect the old days of the breed and the responsible and noble dogmen which made this breed great. However, in todays times we truly believe that focusing on conformation, intelligence and stable temperaments is the most important task in breeding these wonderful dogs. America as a whole has forgotten what this breed stood for and needs to be reminded.

Every puppy who left our home did so with a basic manners and the beginnings of potty training. Also they left here with human and dog socialization. We feel that all dogs should be given that training to tolerate other dogs, even if they don't like them or grow out of liking them.

In our home certain combinations of dogs cannot be together, even supervised. Others are just fine while in the house or on our property. That being said we must always remember the nature of the breed and never leave two or more APBTs unsupervised together.

Please enjoy a photo chronicle of our first litter. . .
